Large, attractive map of the lovely highlands of Berkshire County, one of the premier cultural-recreational destinations in the United States. Issued as a promotional instrument for the Berkshire Life Insurance Co., the map dates from the early days of the area as a recreational area. The map notes the mountain peaks throughout the area giving their elevations. Also indicated are natural curiosities, lakes, ponds, rail lines, roads, and historic episodes. At lower right is a view of the twin peaks of Mount Greylock, whose elevation of 3491 feet makes the highest in the state.
