A very attractive, early edition of Speed's map of the richly historic county in southeastern England, with inset plans of Canterbury and Rochester and a small vignette of the Battle of Hastings.  The densely detailed map reflects the fact that many important structures were located there—the palaces at Greenwich and Eltham, Dover Castle, and the cathedrals at Canterbury and Rochester—along with the magnificent country homes of English nobility and political potentates. London can be seen in the upper left corner of the map.
